Other Ways to Help
Support Undergraduate Internships – Internships create opportunities for hands-on learning that can plant the seeds of life-long intellectual interests. The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) offers guidance and resources for WU undergraduate students seeking internships at Washington University and elsewhere. The office also provides financial assistance in the form of competitively-awarded OUR Summer Undergraduate Research Awards, Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF) for students undertaking research projects with a faculty mentor. Consider contributing to the funds supporting these learning opportunities.
BioMedRAP – This Washington University program provides fellowships for an intensive 10-week summer laboratory experience for students from groups traditionally underrepresented in biomedical research. Many of our BioMedRAP trainees have come from minority-serving institutions including Alcorn State, Barry, Florida A&M, Florida International, Morehouse, Spelman, and the University of Puerto Rico. This highly successful outreach program was developed in 2002 and is administered by the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences.
Research Participant Registry – Consider volunteering for health studies! You can help Washington University School of Medicine researchers by registering as a potential clinical study participant—and potentially contributing to the improvement of human health.
